First, I’m not going to blame anyone, so I hide those IDs for some kind of privacy considerations.

FFW2: I have to say, after being a Potter head for five years. I know this might be hard to hear for some people. But I have to say I am disappointed at what the community of Harry Potter fans has come to. It seems to be as toxic as the star wars fan base these days. The blatant hate and intolerance of some opinions. The changing of some characters just to suit someone’s ship. The increasing hostility towards the movies because books are always better, and there is no need to prove it. That being said, I’m not leaving this group just disappointed as I remember when he used to be a bright fandom. I wonder what happened. So in the spirit of positivity. What are some things the books and movies did well? Also do you read fanfic or write it why or why not? Who is your favorite character and why just dont say a name please?

LE2b: And, about the questions. I like how the books would always draw me in, I couldn’t put them down for the life of me. I like how the movies were shot (the later ones) and the casting. Oh, and my favourite character is Bellatrix because I wonder what made her that way. I’m a firm believer that no one is born insane, so she would have had to have had a breaking point, so what was hers?

tk: did there s someone talk about fanfic? ye i m a fanfic writer, i did write some fanfics about HP. so sorry i must say: OOC maybe the soul of fanfic, it s not easy to keep all the characters just “at the origin character set”. all we can do may be try to keep the style looks like the origin one (book?) but no one else is JKR. so if you want to find anything just same as JKR, you may in a wrong place. Sorry for my broken english.

LE2b: Taking the characters and putting your own twist, adding your touch is like the whole point of fanfic. My ship would never happen cannon, But if written well in fanfic it seems natural.

And here is my opinion. (below)

The word “toxic” is too exaggerate to describe the HP fan place. Anyway, I do not think “to blame someone just because his/her fan works do not suit for you” is a good behavior.

Maybe you just have some different thoughts about HP. Differences will be always happen, but “to be different” is not same as “wrong” or bad things.

Mostly, write (and maybe sometimes share) fan fictions are just for fun, we share our understanding about HP with other people who like it as well. And no one “must” keep his/her fan fictions “not OOC” since he/she didn’t ask for any economical pay back.

Of course, everyone has the right to say “I don’t like something”. But if the article was not with any underage or such illegal thing in it, please remember you still have the choice “to continue read it, or just leave it alone”. You don’t have to read it, since no one ask you to.

If you have any different understanding, that is OK, and no one should blame you just for that. Please feel free to keep your own understanding, and please let the others to do as well. Please remember that you can close the web page and leave what you don’t like.
